Kia ora,

My name is Rhonda Beet and I feel privileged to live on the Hibiscus Coast with my husband and two children. I enjoy anything to do with the water, be it paddle boarding, boating, fishing or simply enjoying a walk along the beach.

I currently teach a Year 3 class at Orewa Beach School. While, like most primary school teachers I am a ‘Jack of all Trades’, I am most passionate about teaching mathematics. I love seeing children also develop a love for it – there is nothing quite like the ‘light-bulb’ moment when a student’s eyes light up after grasping a concept. One of the greatest rewards in teaching is seeing the progress of our tamariki – be it small or big, academically, socially or emotionally.

Being part of the 21st Century Learning team is exciting. We are at the forefront of big changes in education and our team is keen to support tumuaki, kaiako and ākonga on this journey.
