Lead Principals
My name is Cameron Lockie and I’m very privileged to be the principal of Silverdale School – Ko te kura o Te Weiti. Our mission is to actively prepare each child to take responsibility for their own life-long learning, values and behaviour, in partnership with the home and community. I have been the principal here since 2015. Our Kāhui Ako ki Orewa encourages community involvement and fosters a sense of belonging and engagement among our tamariki, whānau, and staff. Through specific goals and initiatives our Kāhui Ako ki Orewa initiates professional development opportunities for teachers, sharing of teaching strategies, collective problem-solving, and creating pathways for seamless transitions between schools.
We focus on student-centered approaches, personalised learning, and promote a culture of continuous improvement for the growth and success of both tamariki and kaiako.
